Mobilize to Help Hanover Township Food Pantry

Across the nation, Knights of Columbus councils have answered the call to “Leave No Neighbor Behind” during this Covid-19 pandemic crisis. As you know, we support the Hanover Township Food Pantry in our council and parish throughout the year. With the cancellation of activities and masses, the monthly food drives have not occurred. The food pantry counts on those donations to supplement the purchasing that they do with funds from other sources.

We have two events going on during the month of May to come to their rescue and meet their immediate needs. We’ve scheduled a Virtual 5k Run / Walk which can be completed from May 1 – June 20. To participate, click on the link below to be taken to our dedicated registration page for the event.

There are several different registration options (with and without swag). Discounts are available for families, students, and seniors as well. Swag (t-shirs and participation ribbons) as well as medals for 5k participants that upload their results, will be presented at a later date when we are able to reopen our facilities.

After registering you then RUN a 5K or WALK (5k or less) any time between now and June 20th noon. Choose your route: take to the treadmill, run in your neighborhood, or follow the suggested course map (our certified course) Feel free to run a loop beginning at any point and proceeding in either direction. Capture your results using your phone or manual entry.

We encourage individuals to form teams and solicit donations to support the food pantry. 100% of proceeds, less convenience fees charged online, will benefit the Hanover Township Food Pantry. Depending on the purchasing ability of the pantry (there are limits) we will either provide the funds to them directly or purchase food and deliver to the food pantry.

Ladies Auxiliary Helping to
Stock Food Shelves Now

We have been in contact with the Hanover Township Food Pantry and have discovered that the pantry is in dire need. Unfortunately, because of the purchasing limits, they are asking for food donations instead of monetary donations. Right now they just aren’t able to keep enough food on the shelves.

St. John’s School is distributing school lunches to our parish families in Kyle Hall three days a week through May 15th.   We have setup a bin for food donations there and will be monitoring it and delivering to the food pantry.

If you are able, we are asking for donations to be brought to St. John the Evangelist School Kyle Hall (next to main school entrance on Parkside Circle) to help our community.  If these times don’t work for you, please email info@kofc12801.org and mention that you have food donations. Someone will be in contact with you to make other arrangements.
